About

IBBI is more than just a business. We are a living promise to preserve the planet while providing you with the fullest abundance of Mother Nature. By picking us, you are choosing a philosophy of how nature is to be embraced with reverence.

An Actual Adventure Based on Agrotourism

IBBI is an interactive agrotourism resort located in the lush hills of Matale, Sri Lanka. Since we believe that people should have a one-on-one encounter with nature, our specialty lies in intimate and informative experiences. Our connection to the land, its traditions, and the people who care for it is the foundation of our ethos.

Our name, IBBI (ඉබ්බි), is obtained from the Sinhala name for "female tortoise," a symbol of resilience, knowledge, and a caring relationship with the land. Our logo's green Sinhala letter "ඉ" stands for purity, freshness, and a representation of Sri Lanka's greenest surroundings. The concept of nurtured rather than generated best treasures of nature echoes every element of our brand.

The Experience of IBBI

Our core business is the guided exploration of our lush plantation, which feels less like a farm and more like a thriving jungle. This isn't another passive walkthrough, it's a chance to engage one-on-one with the land. You'll join us for interactive demonstrations, participate in seasonal harvesting, and learn ancient traditions passed down through generations.

You could reach out and touch the leaves and scent the fertile ground as you:

  • Observe the exact 2.5/3.5leaf plucking technique and watch how fresh leaves of tea are converted into the delicious cup produced in our area.
  • Witness the art of cinnamon tree bark extraction, by which a common tree produces the most aromatic spice in the world.
  • Learn about the specialty coffee, clove, pepper, and nutmeg, and see how the sprout transforms into the spice and how the varieties Arabica and Robusta, or black and white pepper, differ.
  • Visit the traditional art of tapping sap from the Kithul (Toddy) tree and see how the sweet sap is refined into treacle, jaggery, and toddy.
  • Our Inspiration

Besides the crops, our business concept will provide diverse experiences that will match your journey. You may choose a beautiful tuk-tuk tour or a more personal guided nature trail. We are diligently expanding our services to provide fun activities such as off-road biking and green camping so that you can be in the flow of the natural pace of our land.

    A Commitment to Sustainability

Beyond the purity of its products, IBBI strives to be a beacon of sustainability and environmental consciousness. By embracing green farming practices and championing the use of natural inputs, IBBI minimizes its ecological footprint while promoting biodiversity. Every acre cultivated by the Olu Group is a celebration of harmony with nature—a conscious choice to preserve the environment for future generations.

We at IBBI take natural farming as our business. No synthetic fertilizers or pesticides are used, and all of our produce is grown with the uncrossed flavors of our soil. We are a company whose mission is to share our love of the land so that all those who visit us will take home something new to remember about Sri Lanka—something to cherish and something to truly experience the real Sri Lankan agricultural heritage. Here you are taking in a philosophy of purity, sustainability, and a very profound sense of life.

    A Philosophy to Remember

IBBI is not just a place to go; it is a way of looking at the world. By being natural, sustainable, and having a strong appreciation of life, we extend our passion for the land to all of you who visit our estate. IBBI is not just about experiencing nature but about carrying some nature in your hand forever!
